Tradition meets colour: The Rosewood Bar.

Rosewood Hotel and Resorts have just opened the renovated version of their London Hotel placed in an exquisite 1914 Edwardian building in Covent Garden. The whole renovation deserves attention but the real gem that you could find when you cross its central carriage entrance is the Rosewood Bar by one of my favorite London designers: Martin Brudnizki.

Martin, who I had the pleasure to work with briefly when I first arrived to London, has kept the main architectural features in an admirable gesture of respect for the building’s history. The designer has taken the traditional English Gentlemen’s club aesthetic to create a very vibrant environment with rich red, green and blue leathers in a new tonal interpretation that suggests a younger vibe.

The bar guests can seat comfortably by the window or by the bespoke bronze fireplace and enjoy the exclusively designed furniture while having reasonably priced cocktails. The L-shaped bar has 16 oversized deep blue stools to enjoy the view of the bar back that with its library look helps creating the feeling that we have been transported in time to an old Drawing Room.

Affordable Luxury in a venue with no dress code or strict seating rules where everyone can have a casual drink enjoying what I understand as first class design.
